RL-7000 OVERVIEW
The RL-7000 is a digital messaging computer that that plays both on-hold and after hours music and message programs. It accepts remote downloads of new on-hold and after-hours message programs through an existing telephone line. The installation and normal operations of your RL-7000 unit are described below.
HOW IT WORKS
The RL-7000 stores on-hold and after hours message in internal flash memory. The flash memory allows your RL-7000 to retain stored messages through power interruptions. Your RL-7000 was shipped with a program already stored in memory.
As you request new messages, we will download them from our computer to the RL-7000. These downloads occur through an existing standard telephone line.
When configured for after-hours use, the RL-7000 is programmed with your organizations hours of operation. When properly configured, and in the Automatic Mode, it automatically begins answering calls when you close and ceases answering calls when you open. From time to time it may be necessary for you to override the regular schedule. The following mode settings will prove useful at these times.
AUTOMATIC MODE
Press the mode switch once. The LED stays on steady. The RL-7000 will not answer incoming calls if the time of day is later than the stored open time and earlier than the stored close time for that day. If the time of day is later than the close time and earlier than the open time, then the RL-7000 will answer incoming calls on the programmed number of rings. Three rings is the standard setting for after hours applications.
ALWAYS ANSWER MODE
Press the mode switch twice within two seconds, like a mouse double click. The LED blinks, staying on most of the time and off only a short time. The RL-7000 will answer all incoming calls on the programmed number of rings. (Use this mode when you are closing early or prior to holidays or extended closings. Be sure to switch back to AUTO MODE prior to reopening or calls will continue to be answered by the RL-7000.)
NEVER ANSWER MODE
Press the mode switch three times with less than a two second delay between
depressions. Think mouse triple click. The LED blinks, staying
off most of the time and on only a short time. The RL-7000 will not answer
any incoming. (Use this mode when you are extending your hours beyond
normal or when you will be open on normally closed days. Be sure to switch
back to AUTO MODE prior to closing or any after hours calls will not be
answered by the RL-7000.)
